Story that has been passed on thru the yrs-shouldn't be lost now...When Charlotte was young, she and her cousins wanted a watermelon. They weren't sure how to tell if they were ripe. So Charlotte 'plugged' the entire patch to find a ripe one! When her Granddad Jenkins discovered this and wanted o know who had done it-she blamed it all on her 1st cousin Tommy , who was older than her! Needless to say, Tommy got a "whoopin' "!!!He wasn't very happy about it either. After that he called Charlotte 'punk kid' - which turned into 'Punk' for many years of her life-by many people- probably past 30 yrs old for some!! :)
